MoneyBook Privacy Policy

MoneyBook: Family Finances

Effective 17 October 2026. This policy covers MoneyBook: Family Finances on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, made by Wasiq Apps (OPC) Pvt Ltd, India.

In short: we don't collect your data. MoneyBook has no accounts to sign up for, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and we run no servers that receive your information. The only time we hear from you is when you contact us.

Where your data is kept

Your accounts, categories, budgets and transactions are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. The Apple Watch app syncs with iCloud directly. Widgets read the same data on your device and send it nowhere. We can't see this data. Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy and your iCloud terms.

Shared profiles

When you share a profile, its data stays in your iCloud and is visible to the people you approve. They can see the profile's transactions, accounts, budgets and who added or last edited each transaction. To let you approve someone, Apple gives MoneyBook their name and the email address or phone number they use with iCloud, which stay on your devices. You can change someone's access or remove them at any time. A profile someone shares with you is stored in their iCloud, and leaving it removes it from your devices.

Permissions

Contacts (optional): MoneyBook matches people in your profiles to your contacts by email address or phone number, to show the names and photos you saved for them. This happens on your device, and nothing from Contacts is uploaded.

Camera (optional): used only to scan a profile's QR code so you can ask to join it. No photos are taken or saved.

Notifications (optional): reminders about planned transactions are scheduled on your device.

Siri and Apple Intelligence

When you add an expense with Siri or the Quick Logging shortcut, MoneyBook sends your sentence, together with the names of your accounts and categories, to Apple Intelligence's Private Cloud Compute to work out the amount, category and account. Apple uses it only to answer that request and doesn't store it, and we never receive it. No amounts from your other transactions or balances are sent. If Private Cloud Compute isn't available, nothing is sent and Siri asks you for each detail instead. "Add expense manually in MoneyBook" never uses Private Cloud Compute: Siri asks for the amount, category, account and an optional comment, and nothing leaves your device except through your own iCloud sync. Siri itself is provided by Apple and covered by Apple's privacy policy.

So that misheard expenses can be fixed, MoneyBook keeps your last 20 Siri expenses on the device you said them on, for up to 7 days: what you said, what was read from it, and what was saved, including amounts, account and category names and notes. This history never leaves the device unless you choose to include it in a support email (see below). You can delete it at any time with Clear Siri History in MoneyBook's Settings. The Apple Watch keeps none.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. MoneyBook only asks the App Store whether you have MoneyBook Plus.

Contacting us

If you email us or use Message Us in MoneyBook, we receive your email address or phone number and what you write.

Email Support in MoneyBook also adds technical details to help us fix problems, which you can see and remove before sending:

  • The MoneyBook version, the system version and the device model (for example "iPhone19,1"), never your device's name.
  • A diagnostics report: your language, region and time zone, iCloud and network status, whether you have MoneyBook Plus, reminder and widget settings, each profile's currency and number of members, and counts of records and sync status. Profiles, accounts and other records appear only as scrambled ids.
  • A log of what the app did over the last 7 days, and any crash or hang reports Apple's system has passed to MoneyBook.

None of these include your amounts, notes, or account, category, profile or people's names.

Siri expenses, only if you choose. If you have recent Siri expenses, Email Support first asks whether to include them. If you choose Include, the email also contains your recent Siri expenses as described above: what you said to Siri, with amounts, account and category names and notes. If you choose Don't Include, they aren't added.

We use what you send only to reply to you and fix problems, and delete it when it's no longer needed.

Deleting your data

You can delete any transaction, account, category or extra profile in the app. Deleting a profile you own removes it for everyone in it. To remove all of MoneyBook's data from iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud and Manage Account Storage, choose MoneyBook if it's listed, and delete its data. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
