Effective 24 October 2026. This policy covers Salah Book: Prayer Tracker (shown as "Salah" on your Home Screen) on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, made by Wasiq Apps (OPC) Pvt Ltd, India.
In short: we don't collect your data. Salah Book has no accounts to sign up for, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and we run no servers that receive your information. Your prayers live on your devices and in your own iCloud, and only the people you approve can see them. Mosques, and the username you choose, are public so that everyone can use them. The only time we hear from you is when you contact us.
Your prayers
The prayers you log, whether they were prayed, on time, in jama'ah or excused, the mosques you prayed them in, and your settings are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. The Apple Watch app syncs with iCloud directly. Widgets read the same data on your device and send it nowhere. We can't see this data. Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy and your iCloud terms.
Jama'ah reminders, prayer alert settings, your location and the order of your People cards stay on the device you set them on and aren't synced.
People who follow you
When you approve someone's request to follow you, your prayers are shared with them through iCloud, read-only. They can see every prayer you've logged and how, the mosques you prayed them in (each mosque's name, address and location), your username and name, how many mosque edits you've made, the day your missed prayers are counted from, and your prayer convention. They can't see your reminders, alerts or location.
As with any iCloud sharing, Apple shows you and the people you share with each other's iCloud name, and where available the email address or phone number used with iCloud. Salah Book keeps these on your devices only, to show people by the names in your Contacts if you allow it. You can remove a follower, or stop following someone, at any time; their copy of the other's prayers is then removed from their devices.
Public information
Some information is kept in Salah Book's public iCloud database, so everyone using Salah Book can see it:
- Your username, if you choose one, with the name you give with it, how many mosque edits you've made, when you chose it, and the link people use to ask to follow you (left out while Let Others Find Me is off). If Let Others Find Me is off, you don't appear in search, but your username can still show on mosques you edited.
- Mosques: their names, addresses, locations, contact details, prayer times, facilities and programs, and the date each part was last changed. Each change records an anonymous iCloud identifier for the person who made it, so the mosque can show "Updated by" with their username.
- Mosque administrators: which users manage which mosques, and their role.
Location
With your permission, Salah Book uses your location to work out prayer times and the Qibla on your device, and to find the mosques around you. To find nearby mosques, your approximate position is sent to Apple's CloudKit as part of the search; we never receive it. Searching for a city, finding an address and showing maps use Apple Maps. Your location is saved on your device to keep prayer times working offline, and isn't synced or shared. Without location access, you can choose a city instead.
Permissions
Contacts (optional): Salah Book matches the people you follow, and who follow you, to your contacts by email address or phone number, to show the names and photos you saved for them. This happens on your device, and nothing from Contacts is uploaded.
Notifications (optional): prayer alerts and jama'ah reminders are scheduled on your device.
Siri and Apple Intelligence
When you log a prayer with Siri in one sentence ("Log prayer in Salah"), Salah Book asks Apple Intelligence to read the sentence, together with the names of the mosques near you to choose from. On iOS, iPadOS and macOS 27 this uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which uses it only to answer that request and doesn't store it; on earlier versions it's read on your device. We never receive it, and Salah Book keeps no history of what you said. "Log prayer manually in Salah" and the prayer-time shortcuts don't use Apple Intelligence. Siri itself is provided by Apple and covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Salah Book 3
If you used Salah Book 3, the new app reads the prayers it kept in your iCloud and copies them into your Salah Book data, once. The old data is only read, never changed or sent anywhere else.
Purchases
Salah Plus is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Salah Book only asks the App Store whether you have Salah Plus, and when your free week ends.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. When you claim a mosque, the email Salah Book prepares includes the mosque, its identifier and your username, and the name, role and phone number you choose to add. We use what you send only to reply to you, to confirm a claim with the mosque, and to fix problems, and delete it when it's no longer needed.
Deleting your data
You can clear any prayer you've logged in the app. Removing a follower stops sharing with them. To remove all of Salah Book's data from iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud and Manage Account Storage, choose Salah if it's listed, and delete its data. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device. To remove your username from the public database, email us. Changes you made to mosques stay, as part of the shared directory.
Children
Salah Book doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
