Salah Book: Prayer Tracker

New to Salah Book? The Salah Book Guide walks through every feature, with screenshots.

Need help with Salah Book on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch? Email [email protected], or send an iMessage to the same address. Tell us which device you're using and what happened, and we'll get back to you.

Prayer times

Prayer times are worked out on your device for your location. If they don't match your community's, check Settings → Prayer Times: the Location, the Prayer Convention (12 to choose from) and Standard or Hanafi Asr. A mosque's own adhan and jama'ah times are on its page.

Prayer alerts and jama'ah reminders

Turn on alerts for the prayers you want in Settings → Prayer Alerts, and choose the system sound, none or an adhan. Make sure notifications for Salah are allowed in the Settings app, and that a Focus isn't holding them back. On a Mac, open Salah Book now and then so it can schedule the week ahead. Without Salah Plus, the first two jama'ah reminders go off and others are paused.

Mosques

Nearby mosques need location access and an internet connection. If your mosque is missing, add it with Add a New Mosque at the bottom of Nearby Mosques. To correct a mosque nobody manages, use Suggest Edit on its page; you'll need a username. If you run a mosque, tap Claim Mosque at the bottom of its page and we'll confirm it with the mosque by email.

Syncing and following

Salah Book syncs through your own iCloud account, so there's nothing to sign up for. Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each device. If your prayers aren't showing on another device or for your followers, check that you're signed in and online, and that your iCloud storage isn't full; Salah Book's Settings tells you when iCloud needs attention.

To follow someone, go to Settings → Find People and request to follow their username. They need a username with Let Others Find Me turned on, and they approve you before you can see their prayers.

Coming from Salah Book 3

Your prayers come across by themselves the first time Salah Book syncs with your iCloud account. Make sure you're signed in to the same iCloud account you used with Salah Book 3, and online.

Salah Plus

Everyone gets a free week of Salah Plus from the day they first download, with no payment details needed. After it, prayer times, alerts, the Qibla, logging, missed prayers and mosques stay free. Salah Plus adds the Apple Watch app, widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, logging from alerts, following more than two people, more than two jama'ah reminders, and your whole history. It's yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase, and supports Family Sharing.

Purchases belong to your Apple Account, so they come back on any device signed in with it; use Restore Purchases on the plans if one doesn't. To change or cancel the yearly plan, use Manage Subscription in Salah Book's Settings, or your App Store account settings.

Your data and privacy

We can't see your prayers. Read the Salah Book Privacy Policy for what's kept where, what's public, and how to delete your data.
